"Someone's trying to kill me," I joked.
My son-in-law noticed the four exhaust pipes on my vehicle were plugged with snow and ice.
Carbon monoxide was backing into my vehicle.
The day before, I had driven to the grocery store, and as I was walking the isles, I felt like I could pass out. I became weak. I paid for my groceries and tried to stay awake all the way home.
I went into the house and hopped into bed.
If I had driven further or longer, I could have passed out or possibly died.
My husband was stumped when he tried to think about how the pipes got filled with snow. Then it dawned on him he had moved my vehicle so the snow plow could clear our driveway.
When Vance backed the vehicle into the turnaround, he had pressed the vehicle up to the snow bank.
My husband cleaned out all the pipes, and I was safe again.
As Christians, we often wonder why our relationship with God is stagnant.
Usually, we have backed ourselves into the world. We have loaded our souls with things that come between us and God:
Social Media addiction
Computer Games
Gambling
Porn
Overconsumption of alcohol
Drug addiction
Sports
Fornication
Adultery
We need the Holy Spirit to clean our spiritual exhaust pipes. But often, we put the responsibility on God.
"I will quit when God delivers me."
Friend, your responsibility is to obey, turn from your sin and start walking towards God.
Love equals action.
If you love God, you will walk away from the things of this world and towards your Saviour, Jesus Christ.
God ALWAYS gives you a way out from temptation.
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13
You are to LOOK for the WAY OUT.
Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. 1 Timothy 6: 9-11
You are to FLEE what is sinful. You are to PURSUE what is GODLY.
Action (obedience) leads to deliverance.
Friend, I hope you will quit blaming God for your sinful desires because He hasn't delivered you, and instead, you will start taking responsibility for your choices and actions.
If you love God, your actions will lead you towards Him and Jesus Christ.
The Holy Spirit whispers into your ear every time you are about to sin, "RUN!"
You have two options:
You can stay and indulge in the sin that will clog your spiritual pipes, bring you shame and guilt, and lead to DESTRUCTION.
You can choose to walk away and listen to the conviction of the Holy Spirit, which clears the pipes and leads to LIFE.
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7
When you choose to obey God, He strengthens you. He calls you to read the Bible and pray each day. This is your spiritual armour that will help you resist the devil.
Clean the pipes, drive away, and leave your old life behind; this is how to make your temptations disappear so you can flee from them.
Today, I hope you take ACTION and start the journey out of the world's snowbank of sin.
A new life of PEACE awaits you.
Awake and exposing the lies,

Cindy… When I made the vow to quit drinking back in August of 2014, I can honestly say it was the toughest experience & decision of my life, but once I realised that I’d been given a second chance at life after surviving a car crash (somehow) that attending police claimed was “unsurvivable”, the decision to quit was a no-brainer.
….It was a hell of a struggle for me at first, going out with friends & trying to resist the urge to drink alcohol but something “switched on” inside of me & I declined all drinks offers. It took from August 2014 to December of 2015 before the urge & temptations to drink disappeared altogether & I’m so thankful for it. I dare say “the big guy upstairs” was looking out for me & helped guide me to a better & healthier lifestyle WITHOUT alcohol ✊😌🌅🌅🌅
